I'm Katie, a Cornwall-based photographer, dog mum, coffee lover and rock & metal fan. You'll usually find me somewhere on the Cornish coast, camera in hand, or catching up with friends.
I've always loved having photographs around me. I've got shoeboxes full of Instax photos collected over the years, and a phone camera roll that's permanently overflowing with the people, places and little moments I don't want to forget.
I think that's why people have always been at the heart of my photography. I love creating photographs that celebrate who you are *right now*, rather than waiting for some future version of yourself. Whether you're documenting your family, your relationship, a milestone or the person behind your business, I want you to exist in those photographs, not just be the one taking them.
For me, photography is about celebrating the life you're actually living. Giving you a reason to slow down, be present and make space for photographs you'll love, while you can.
The way I photograph you
I want you to enjoy the experience just as much as you love the photographs.
Having your photograph taken can feel quite daunting, especially if you're not someone who naturally feels comfortable in front of a camera. So my job isn't just to take good photographs. It's to make the whole experience feel easy.
I'm very laid-back on set. We'll chat, laugh, wander around, try things and generally just vibe. I'll give you direction when you need it, but I won't expect you to spend the whole session performing for the camera. Some of my favourite photographs happen in the moments between the things I've asked you to do.
I'm also not looking for everything to be perfectly polished. I want to capture the little expressions, interactions, movement and personality that make the photographs feel like you. Whether I'm photographing a family, a couple, a wedding or someone building their brand, I'll adapt the session to the people in front of me rather than trying to make everyone fit the same formula.
Ultimately, I want two things for every person I photograph: **for you to genuinely enjoy the experience, and to come away with photographs you absolutely love.**
The kind of photographs that make you stop scrolling through your gallery and think, "That's my favourite photo of me."

Through my separate brand, Garnet Studio, I create empowering portraits and boudoir photography for people who want to celebrate themselves, their bodies and who they are right now. It's about creating beautiful, bold images that make you feel confident, seen and proud of the person in front of the camera.
